Behind TRT
We’re a collective of coaches, educators, organisers, and local leaders who believe sport can open doors — when it’s rooted in community and delivered with purpose.
TRT is made up of people from different backgrounds, places, and disciplines. Some of us coach on the pitch, others lead programmes, build partnerships, or support delivery behind the scenes — but everyone plays a role in making the work happen.
There’s no single path into TRT. What unites us is a shared commitment to using sport as a tool for education, leadership, and long-term opportunity. The work is collaborative, locally led, and shaped by the communities we operate within.

Patron
Supports TRT’s work in Zimbabwe, providing long-standing guidance and advocacy for sustainable, community-led programmes.
Tinashe Shamu
Country Director
Leads TRT Zimbabwe’s strategy and delivery, overseeing programmes rooted in local leadership and community partnership.
Rob Newman
Trustee
Provides governance oversight and strategic support, ensuring TRT’s programmes are accountable, ethical, and sustainable.
Thembelani Ncube
Country Manager
Manages day-to-day operations across Matabeleland, supporting schools, coaches, and community partners on the ground.
